SHEPP Board appoints Paula Potter as CEO

Regina, Saskatchewan – The Board of Trustees of the Saskatchewan Healthcare Employees’ Pension Plan (SHEPP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Paula Potter as Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2026.

Ms. Potter was selected following a rigorous, nationwide search process. She steps into the CEO role with more than 22 years of experience in the pension sector, including 20 years at SHEPP, most recently as Chief Operating Officer.

“Ms. Potter brings the experience, judgment, and values that align strongly with SHEPP’s mission, priorities, and strategy,” said Jeff Stepan, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “The Board is confident that she will build on the strong foundation in place and continue to advance long-term sustainability for our members.”

The Board emphasized that continuity and stability remain central to the organization’s direction. Strategic priorities, governance, and operations will continue as planned as Ms. Potter assumes the role.

“I am both humbled and honored to be appointed to this role as SHEPP begins an important new chapter,” Ms. Potter commented.  “With a new strategy, a dedicated and talented team, and strong alignment around our vision to be the most relevant plan for healthcare workers in Saskatchewan, I am excited and energized for what lies ahead.”

“I have deep respect for what has defined SHEPP’s past success, and I am committed to protecting that foundation while leading our continued evolution to meet our members’ needs,” Potter added.

The Board also acknowledged the contributions of retiring CEO Alison McKay, whose leadership positioned the organization strongly for the future.
