Strategic Plan

SHEPP’s Strategic Plan sets the priorities of the organisation and provides a framework for the initiatives we will undertake in working together to reach our goals.

2025 was a year of transition for SHEPP. Reaching fully funded status created new opportunities for the Plan and its members, and the organization continued to build on its foundations of plan stability, people and culture, and strong partnerships.

Against that backdrop, and in the context of an evolving external environment, SHEPP’s Board completed a deep, thoughtful process to define the Plan’s next chapter. Working closely with senior leadership and advisors, the Board examined a range of strategic options with members’ long-term interests at the centre.

The result is Most Relevant Plan – a strategy grounded in the realities of a modern healthcare workforce. It reflects a commitment to modernizing SHEPP’s core benefit, exploring select services that add value, and strengthening relationships with partners. Just as importantly, it provides a framework for feedback and future choices, balancing innovation with sustainability, fairness and fiduciary responsibility.

As SHEPP moves from deficit recovery toward new possibilities, Most Relevant Plan offers a path forward – one designed to keep the Plan meaningful, responsive and relevant in members’ lives.
